Asteroids ‘Whizzing’ By Earth…
It seems that near-Earth space is a pretty busy place. Asteroids whizzing by all the time. Really, it’s just a matter of time before one finds us. The most recent (Oct. 1) was asteroid 2008 SZ150. A 70ish metre object that passed within 25 lunar distances. A couple of nights before that it was the 225 m diameter 2002 NV16 which passed within 14 lunar distances. September 29th saw a 79m object pass within 59 lunar distances. The day before that, 2013 SK20 passed within 2.3 lunar distances. And the list goes on. Every day small objects whiz by Earth.
